If you've been waiting to rent, rather than buy, books in electronic format, here's your first opportunity: Oyster. The company claims that "Readers can access and read over 100,000 titles across every
genre—from international bestsellers and celebrated classics, to cult
sci-fi and seminal biographies." The service costs $9.95 per month.
Access to this service is by invitation only. If you're interested, click over and give them your email address. But be aware: They are only offering books from HarperCollins at this time and it's only available for the iPhone.

Blog post author Jeff O'Neal is pretty excited about it, but I have to say that the concept excites me, yet the limitation to a single publisher isn't such an exciting idea.
